I’m Michelle Price, and I write every review on Honest and Truly Travels based on a trip I took myself. Here’s how I pick those trips and how I write about them.
How I Choose Trips
The majority of my trips are press trips hosted by tourism boards, resorts, cruise lines, and PR teams. I pay for the rest as personal vacations I can’t resist sharing.
I say yes to trips that fit what I love and that will help you plan a great vacation. That usually means a place or experience you’re curious about but haven’t visited yet, with time outdoors, good food, and some soft adventure. I’m a big fan of all-inclusives and well-run cruises.
I pass on trips built around 100-person bus tours where you’re herded from stop to stop. That isn’t fun for me, and it isn’t what you’re looking for either.
How I Write Reviews
My articles are my first-person experiences and cover what you need to decide whether a trip is right for you. That includes who it’s best for, what surprised me, and anything that costs extra.
I don’t write negative reviews, and that’s a conscious decision on my part. There’s a right traveler for almost every trip, so I focus on helping you figure out if that’s you. If something truly goes wrong, I take it up with the company directly rather than writing negatively about it.
Prices change often, so I include them when they’re useful and likely to hold, like the cost of a food tour.
Hosted Trips and Disclosures
I disclose every hosted trip in the article, and my opinions are always my own. Hosts don’t review or edit my articles, and I have full editorial control over what I publish.
Some links are affiliate links, including hotel booking links and Amazon. If you book or buy through one, I may earn a commission at no cost to you. This site also runs ads.
